I have been working at Sterling Crane for two years now. It is an amazing company with endless opportunities for those seeking them out. I visited the Vancouver branch in February when I had only just started. My colleague and I went to visit a crane job up in the mountains, where they were building a bridge. I remember standing on the top of that mountain, snow falling, watching this huge crane work and thinking “how cool is my job” and how lucky I felt in that moment. That is why I wanted to paint it, to remember that feeling.
I spent some time out in BC, visiting the Sterling Crane job sites. I took a road trip up the Coquihalla highway to see a bridge being built by our 450 Crawler and some very spirited Ironworkers. It was a beautiful day and I was lucky enough to be standing on a mountain top, just doing my job. That is the crane I decided to paint, because in that moment, I felt like I was extremely blessed to be where I was and needed to do something, to hold on to that feeling, for as long as I could.
